artists, designers and ecologists. This interdisciplinary seminar on the Potager is for
you! A Potager by definition is an “ornamental kitchen garden”, its intrinsic beauty
being that it is both practical and aesthetically pleasing. A panel of engaging speakers
will inspire, entertain and provoke; artistic recreations of vegetables and fruit have the
wow factor! Gardening from the past designed for the future.

Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney Friends 2014 Program
Acrylic Still Life Painting

Learn to paint still life with acrylics. The course emphasis will be on the close-up observation of nature and light. We will look at the basics of drawing and arranging of the objects on canvas, to the setting out of the painting according to the tonal values and proceed to the careful building up and layering of colour to capture the light that reveals the fleshy essence of the fruit.
